Caramel Enrobing
At Olivier’s we are always looking for ways to create unique and delicious offerings and improve how we bring those items to market. 2021 saw the installation of our state-of-the-art CARAMEL ENROBER. The only one of its kind in North America! With our unique enrobing set up we have the ability to control amount of caramel on product – ideal for hitting retail price points. Our Caramel Enrober is high speed which enables significant capacity. We also have the ability to create “Exposed Caramel” products unique to the marketplace and the ability to enrobe items beyond pretzels!
Private Label Experts
We love Private Label! Olivier’s has partnered with many of our customers to create unique, corporate branded items that meet the needs and requirements set out for specific branding tiers. Our team of Private Label experts can manage the process from concept to shelf quickly and efficiently to meet the tightest of deadlines. Olivier’s is an A-rated, BRC Global Standard Food Safety Certified manufacturer and we operate under HACCP guidelines and are CFIA compliant and audited. We look forward to building your brand!
Our Story
Gaspard Olivier first fired up the copper kettles back in 1909 in Calgary , Alberta , Canada. Establishing a bake shop in the heart of downtown, Gaspard soon expanded his bakery offerings to include candy and ice cream. Known as "The Geisha", the brightly decorated shop became a popular social gathering place for Calgary residents on a Saturday evening.
Gaspard sold the original shop in 1913, and soon opened another candy shop in Medicine Hat. By 1924 he was back in Calgary where he set up a candy factory and retail store just two blocks from his original location at 1005 1St. S.W. For over 50 years Gaspard operated Olivier’s before finally hanging up his apron in 1971.
Today, Olivier’s utilizes the latest technologies and is a thriving modern operation. While we have gained the advantages of modernization, we have not lost the old time flavor and spirit that started with Gaspard. We still use Gaspards original caramel recipe all the way back from 1909!
